A Quick Guide to Finding Wedding Suppliers

When you are engaged, planning your wedding day
can be both exciting and stressful. You want everything to be absolutely
perfect, and there are so many things to consider and different things that
have to come together on the day to make sure that you and your partner have
the day you’ve always dreamed of!

All the hard work is worth it in the end, and
your wedding day will be the best day of your life, so we thought we’d give you
a helping hand by putting together this quick guide to make the task of finding
your wedding suppliers that little bit easier! Here are a few top tips.

Don’t rush

You want to try to book your suppliers as early
as you can, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take your time choosing
them.

Never book the first suppliers you come across
as you don’t want to be second guessing your choices later down the line
because you panicked early on. Be sure that you do plenty of research!

Deciding upon things such as the theme of your
wedding, how casual or formal the day is going to be, and of course your budget
are all key before you even start looking, as you want to make sure you choose
suppliers that match your tastes and that you don’t go overboard splashing the
cash and need to cut back in other areas to compensate. Be sure to think all of
these elements through carefully. If you do find that you need to be creative
with your budget, we love these great ideas from Buzzfeed for thrifty wedding
hacks!

The location is important too, as some suppliers
will be willing to travel, but potentially at an additional cost, and others
may not be, so bear this in mind.

Ask your venue for advice

We spoke to Lake
District Country Hotels
who told us: “Once you have chosen your
venue, things can often become much simpler. We host so many wonderful weddings
here at our three venues that we are pretty clued up on a whole host of
fantastic suppliers who we have worked with before, so we are always more than
happy to give advice.”

Make several enquiries

Enquire with the suppliers you’ve found that you
think may be suitable and let them know the service you require, the date and
location of your wedding, and a bit of an overview.

Ask all the important questions such as terms of
deposit and payments, prices and optional extras, and any terms and conditions.

Then make a shortlist of those that get back to
you and research them in even more detail than you already have. Try to look
for reviews and testimonials, mentions on social media, and anything that will
give you a good picture of what they will be like to work with.

Make a decision

Once you’ve done all of your research, it’s time
to make a decision. It’s important to listen to your gut as intuition shouldn’t
be ignored with decisions so big.

Then it’s time to let your chosen suppliers know
the good news, and thank the others you’ve spoken to and explain that you’ve
made a decision. Then the real fun and planning can begin, and the countdown to
your special day.

We hope this has given you some insight into the
process of finding wedding suppliers!
